Mentaiko, a traditional Japanese seafood ingredient, is made from marinated pollock roe and packed with rich, savory flavors. It’s easy to prepare – simply heat, deep-fry, mix into pasta sauce, use as a dip with mayonnaise, or enjoy in sushi and onigiri. Made up of very tiny particles, mentaiko may feel soft and easy to squeeze even at -18 degrees, similar to miso. This does not mean it is thawed.
